Fuck a January 31st

A symbolic day made for bloggers I guess, with news of Sam Alito's appointment trumping that of Coretta Scott King's death at all the major outlets. I'm not even saying that such a despicable man's honorable achievement should be knocked down in the news order by the death of the widow of the most important sculptor and martyr of our world today (and an activist in her own right). But it is rather...creepy? ominous? fitting? horrible? that today is full of smiles and "high-fives" for conservative, wealthy, white herbs like Sammy, Georgy, Clarence (he is white, Tom Brokaw is blacker), kids that went to Nichols and their bitch ass parents, while the African-American community is grieving its greatest loss in a few decades. But not to worry, the not-too-distant future should be full of many more great losses for this community to spread its woe amongst. I'm really not to thrilled with the world that it looks like I'm going to be coming of age in.

If this is a sign of things to come from this Fishscale project, and maybe from hip-hop in '06, count me in as hyped. Two fresh ass tracks from this album sampler, two different sounds, but it's tempting to say they sound like classic Ghost.

Ghostface Killah- Big Girl (Fishscale, 2006)
Same idea has Holla from The Pretty Toney Album, Ghost is straight up rhyming over an old soul track, vocals and all. We loved it before and I love it now, this is my favorite track in a long long time.

Ghostface Killah- Charlie Brown (Fishscale, 2006)
MF Doom producs, so I'm sure all you indie rock fans who love Dangerdoom will nut over this one. I mean, it is a raw track though, I'm just a little sensitive about anything MF Doom after that fucking album with the cartoon nonsense and Fisher Price beats from DooDoo Mouse. But still, Ghost's fast raps are on point on this track. I cannot wait for this shit to drop this spring.

People Are Fucking Crazy, And Wrecking Balls Are Wild

This blog is back up and running with the new year, as I am headed back to college at UB and Sam is filling in at the law firm for me, which is actually a raw job. I'm sure I'll have alot to mouth off about once school starts, lots of herbs who love Dane Cook and college sweatshirts and Fall Out Boy and Easy Mac and aviator sunglasses and girls who weighed 110 pounds in September.

The flick above is H-O Oats from today, in all its demolished blightiness, except for three killer doods who got up on the top of the tower (well, Ian's name got smashed by the wrecking ball today, but Evan! and Morgue are still running). Go check it out if you're in Buffalo, it won't be standing much longer because the Native Americans are erecting a wack gaming establishment (calm down Gooch, it's not a Halo Stadium). Corner of Marvin and Perry, because you know where that is I'm sure.

So all three of these creepy as fuck stories came out on Tuesday, which should come as no surprise to those who know Tuesday to be the Day of the Mummy! Well, technically only two of the three stories are about mummified old women. The third is about a 106 year old who pulled some young bol and got too wild and crazy, sippin' on sizzurp (antifreeze) and doing that weird breath control sex that Nick Scinta is real into (chocking each other).

Better see ya'll out there. You can't say that you're down with hip-hop if you don't drop a lil' loot to see a legend in your hometown (check the mp3 for evidence). In fact, don't ever try to talk to me about hip-hop if you aren't there tonite. REVIEW AND PHOTOS AFTER THE SHOW. Peace. Ev.
